Opening Thoughts

O.K.. Here I am. A new blogger. Since Myron has retired, I guess this is where the stuff from my big cranium is going to go.. Yoi!

At this moment, I am listening to Live365.com's "All Brass" station. It currently has The Cadets' current show on. It was recorded at the Alamodome on July 23, 2005.

Now for a few rants before I hit the hay..

1. When will we stop hearing if Ben Roethlisberger gets even the slightest injury? I mean, what happens if he gets stung by a bee during "Camp Cahr" Will KDKA break through an episode of "Two and a Half Men" just to tell us that Big Ben got stung in the butt?? (I know all of you conspiracy theorists out there will say that Ray Lewis had some bees genetically altered just to sting Ben in the Posterior. (Guess what, Ray Lewis isn't that smart))

2. The Pens will get their New digs.. I'm not just saying it because I'm a season ticket holder, I'm saying it because they have been and are getting screwed ROYALLY.. The Flyers have a great building, so does Columbus.. Why not us?? Besides, with Crosby, Malikin, Recchi, Palfy, Malone, Fleury, Orpik, Gonchar, Tarnstrom.... and some guy named Mario Lemieux.. The Pens will be fine...

On a final note. It has been one week since the Falling Asleep of the Archpriest Vladimir Soroka. His Funeral on Sunday night was a service/performance that I will NEVER forget. I know he was smiling from his spot in the Choir Loft. May God grant eternal rest to the servant of God, the Archpriest Vladimir, and make his Memory Eternal! Vechnaya Pamyat!

The Sunday evening funeral was indeed incredible. 250 people, 30 priests, choir of 30 or so. I think my dad was definitely smiling - we all were, even through the sadness. This is the mystery of our Faith: "Through the Cross joy has come into all the world."

Thanks also for playing "Taps" on Monday. It was a fitting tribute.
