Today, right after the Divine Liturgy, we had a trisagion for my grandfather. I can't believe it's been 13 years since he's been gone. I can remember the moment my grandmother got the phone call. For some reason, we had a week off before tour, and I was at my grandmother's apartment for lunch. The phone rang, and it was the nursing home he was at. She always said that God was looking out for everyone on that day. I tended to think my penchant for impeccable timing was the culprit, then I became Orthodox, and then I found out she was right. Then I went to lunch with my old friends Andrew, Liz, and their three year old daughter, Anastacia. I couldn't believe that Anastacia has gotten so big! Last night, Melissa told me that Liz was preggers again.. I am very happy for both of them, they are truly blessed. The afternoon was spent catching up on things, and then told them that Bek and I had been broken up since Feb. The smile on Andrew's face was enough for me to realize that it was God's plan for me to meet a nice Orthodox girl.. (Whether she be a Convert, Greek, Russian or whatever, is still a mystery to me..) An impatient man waits for nothing, and gets it too.. I just wish I had the patience to be patient!
